Abu Hamza wins appeal against deprivation of citizenship

05/11/10

The Special Immigration Appeals Commission today allowed an appeal by Abu Hamza against the Home Secretary's decision to strip him of his British citizenship. The Commission ruled that the decision, if implemented, would render him de jure stateless as a matter of international law, because, in the light of the open and closed evidence, he was no longer an Egyptian citizen.
