Bill Wood KC to mediate the final of the 2026 ICC Mediation Competition

Annually in the first week of February law students from all over the world converge on Paris to take part in the ICCs mediation competition. This year 60 teams from Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Australasia are taking part. Professional mediators join them in Paris and act as the mediators of the mock disputes and as judges for the purpose of the competition.

A conference of the world’s mediators taking place alongside the student competition. This year, and uniquely for a second time, Bill Wood KC has been called upon to mediate the final on Saturday.

Bill said: “This is a brilliant concept now in its 21st year. The students are astonishingly good and many of them are not working in their first language. They bring a huge amount of enthusiasm to the competition and the mediators pick up on that. It is an enormous honour to be asked to mediate the final which scarily takes place in front of an audience of some the best mediators in the world.“
