Brick Court Chambers

Brick Court team running for Justice

12/09/17

For a number of years Brick Court has raised funds for various charities, including through participation in events like the London Legal Walk.

This year Chambers is upping the ante in athletic terms and has entered a team of five runners in the Royal Parks Half-Marathon. The half-marathon takes place on 8 October through a number of the Royal Parks situated in central London, starting and ending in Hyde Park. The furthest point of the out-and-back route is at the Aldwych, near Chambers.

The team will be running for Justice, the well-known legal charity, which campaigns on access to justice, law reform and other legal issues, and which draws support from across the political spectrum.

The team features five junior barristers, with distance running credentials ranging from beginner to ultra-marathon runner.

It remains to be seen whether the well-known competitive streak of members of Chambers will translate into the running arena, although the team’s state of preparedness following the August vacation perhaps suggests otherwise.
