GCR Awards 2013 nominations announced

Global Competition Review have announced the shortlist for the nominations for the GCR Awards 2013.  The list features several cases in which members of Brick Court Chambers were involved:

European Commission CRT cartel fine, nominated for Enforcement Matter of the Year: Mark Hoskins QC and Sarah Abram are instructed for Panasonic Corporation and its subsidiary MTPD in their appeal to the General Court.

Court of Appeal of England & Wales in Ryanair Holdings plc v Office of Fair Trading, nominated for Enforcement Matter of the Year:  James Flynn QC, Kelyn Bacon and Daniel Piccinin appeared for Aer Lingus, instructed by Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.

DG Comp v Tomkins, nominated for Behavioural matter of the year - Europe: Kelyn Bacon appeared for Tomkins instructed by Kirkland & Ellis.

National Grid v Gas-insulated switchgear cartelists, nominated for Litigation of the Year: Mark Hoskins QC and Sarah Ford are acting for ABB instructed by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; Marie Demetriou QC is acting for Siemens instructed by Clifford Chance; Kelyn Bacon is acting for Areva instructed by Shearman & Sterling; Maya Lester is acting for Alstom instructed by Hogan Lovells; and Daniel Jowell QC has acted for Alstom instructed by Hogan Lovells.

2Travel Group plc v Cardiff City Transport Services Limited (Cardiff Bus) before the CAT, nominated for Litigation of the Year: James Flynn QC and Colin West appeared for Cardiff Bus instructed by Burges Salmon.

The awards ceremony takes place in Washington DC on 9th April.
