‘Is it time for the common law to break free from Europe?’

The Brick Court Chambers Public Law Event 2014 was held on Wednesday 8th October 2014 at Gray’s Inn.

The panel discussion was on the topic ‘Is it time for the common law to break free from Europe?’.  Shaun Ley of the BBC chaired a panel consisting of Dominic Grieve QC MP, Lord Judge, Bella Sankey of Liberty, Martin Howe QC, and David Anderson QC, with an introduction from Judge Fidelma Macken SC.  Questions were posed from the audience in what has been described by Carl Gardner on ‘Head of Legal’ as “a serious evening of legal and political discussion by and in front of lawyers of the highest rank.”
