Silks Day 2026

Brick Court Chambers is delighted to announce that four of our members have been formally appointed as King's Counsel today.

The appointments represent a notable milestone in the legal calendar, recognising exceptional advocacy and excellence at the Bar.

Speaking on what the day means to her, Sarah Love KC said: "It’s a wonderful opportunity to dress up(!) and share a once-in-a-lifetime experience with my family and with colleagues in Chambers – especially David, Laura and Malcolm, whom I am delighted for. My children are very excited about the trip to Westminster Hall! It’s also a chance to thank the many people without whom a successful silk application would not have been possible. I’ve been very lucky to have supportive and talented leaders, juniors, clerks and instructing solicitors. Finally, I am excited about the next stage in my career. I enjoy working collaboratively on substantial and interesting disputes and look forward to more in the future!”

Laura Newton KC said: "Today is the culmination of a lot of hard work and the start of an exciting chapter in my career. I’m delighted to be able to share the experience of Silks Day with my family, friends and colleagues, and am very much looking forward to working with clients and colleagues in my new role. I’m also relieved that the ceremonial dress is not going to be required regularly!”

Malcolm Birdling KC said: "It’s been extremely humbling to be the recipient of so much goodwill since the appointments were announced, and I’m looking forward to sharing the day with my family, without whose love, support and patience I would not be here.”
