Robyn Bower-Morris

Robyn is developing a broad practice across all areas of commercial and public law. She joined Brick Court in September 2026 following the successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Emily MacKenzie, Geoffrey Kuehne, and David Bailey KC.

Robyn’s recent experience includes:

Acting for CCM Settlement Ltd on a debt claim brought against it by VTB Bank in the context of UK sanctions against Russian entities (as a pupil, assisting Geoffrey Kuehne).
Advising a car manufacturer on the prospects of successfully challenging the FCA’s proposed consumer redress scheme for motor finance consumers (as a pupil, assisting Geoffrey Kuehne).
Advising a Hong Kong clearing exchange on the merits of threatened claim against it (as a pupil, assisting David Bailey KC).
Advising a leading tech company on the penalties regime in the Online Safety Act 2023 (as a pupil, assisting James McClelland KC).
Advising an English sport regulator on the scope of its powers (as a pupil, assisting David Bailey KC).

Before starting pupillage, Robyn worked as a judicial assistant to Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr in the Court of Appeal. Robyn has a first-class degree in English from Oxford University. She subsequently undertook a law conversion at City University. During pupillage, Robyn was awarded one of four Senior Scholarships by Gray’s Inn reserved for pupils of exceptional merit. Robyn joins chambers in September 2026.

- Consumers’ Association v Qualcomm (2025) – acting for Qualcomm. The CAT approved the first ever collective settlement on a ‘drop hands’ basis under the collective proceedings regime (as a pupil, assisting David Bailey KC).
- Allergan plc & Ors v CMA (2026) – acting for the CMA in the Court of Appeal resisting an appeal against the CAT’s decision that the Defendants charged unfair prices for hydrocortisone tablets (as a pupil, assisting David Bailey KC).
Public Law M
Robyn’s recent experience includes:
- PQ v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions [2026] UKUT 1 (AAC) – acting for the Respondent and winning on all grounds. The Upper Tribunal gave an important judgment about the interaction between payments made to surrogate mothers and means-tested benefits (as a pupil, assisting Emily MacKenzie).
- Advising a regulator on the extraterritoriality of its powers (as a pupil, assisting Emily MacKenzie).
- Advising a leading tech company on the penalties regime in the Online Safety Act 2023 (as a pupil, assisting James McClelland KC).
- Advising an English sport regulator on the extent of its powers (as a pupil, assisting David Bailey KC).
