Taming the Wild West: Government and the Internet

Once conceived as an ungoverned space, the Internet, and its platforms, are starting to face regulation by means ranging from antitrust law to content moderation. Meanwhile, the tech companies are assuming functions classically associated with government. This wide-ranging lecture will examine some current political and legal developments, and look at options for the future.
