Door Tenants

Brick Court Chambers is open to applications for door tenancy from practitioners in other jurisdictions and from academic lawyers. Successful applicants will be outstanding in their fields, and likely to contribute significantly to the reputation of Chambers.

Door tenancies are normally awarded for a term of five years, renewable by mutual consent.

Established Practitioners and Other Applicants

Established practitioners and other Applicants - Shorter, Non-practising pupillages and third sixes

On occasions we consider applications for pupillage from exceptional established practitioners.

As a general rule we would expect those who have less than 7 years’ experience to undertake a full 12 month pupillage (even if the BSB has granted a dispensation from the full pupillage term), and to apply through the Pupillage Gateway.

Practitioners with more than 7 years’ experience wishing to apply for pupillage should apply using Chambers Application Form (which can be downloaded from the Pupillage & Tenancy pages of our website) and sending it to our pupillage manager, Lyana Peniston. (The form can also be uploaded via the Application Form page of our website.)

Chambers’ policy is to recruit new tenants from among its own pupils. As such we do not normally offer third six-month pupillages. Any vacancies for third sixes as may be offered will be advertised on this site.
