Brick Court Chambers

Door tenants

Brick Court Chambers is open to applications for door tenancy from practitioners in other jurisdictions and from academic lawyers. Successful applicants will be outstanding in their fields, and likely to contribute significantly to the reputation of chambers.

Door tenancies are normally awarded for a term of five years, renewable by mutual consent.

Established practitioners and other applicants

Established practitioners and other applicants - shorter, non-practising pupillages and third sixes

On occasions we consider applications for pupillage from exceptional established practitioners.

As a general rule we would expect those who have less than 7 years’ experience to undertake a full 12 month pupillage (even if the BSB has granted a dispensation from the full pupillage term), and to apply through the Pupillage Gateway having first applied for an assessed mini-pupillage direct to Chambers (please see the pupillage pages of our website for further information including the mini-pupillage application form).

Practitioners with more than 7 years’ post qualification experience wishing to apply for pupillage should apply using the application form below and sending it to our pupillage manager, Lyana Peniston.

Chambers’ policy is to recruit new tenants from among its own pupils. As such we do not normally offer third six-month pupillages. Any vacancies for third sixes as may be offered will be advertised on this site.

Please download our application form to apply for a shortened pupillage, non-practising pupillage, tenancy or door tenancy here.
