Two sets, one stranglehold: CAT work is not open to all

The Lawyer, 27/6/22

Brick Court is on top form when it comes to the CAT, appearing in 10 of the 13 group action cases reported below. The set seems to favour the defence work as 39 of its barristers have been instructed for defendants in the same 10 cases, while 18 have been called in for the claimant side. Many of its barristers have appeared multiple times across these cases, notably Mark Hoskins QC and Sarah Ford QC, who have both appeared five times. Daniel Piccinin and Tony Singla QC have both appeared four times.
