The Arab Legal Forum is delighted to invite you to a panel discussion on “challenging United Nations economic sanctions before domestic courts” at the offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, London, in the Auditorium situated at 26-28 Tudor Street, London, EC4Y 0BQ, on Thursday 6 October at 18:00. 

Speakers:  

Judge Kimberly Prost – former ombudsperson for the United Nations Security Council Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee; Chief of Legal Advisory Section of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime 

Maya Lester QC – Brick Court Chambers

Antonios Tzanakopoulos - Associate Professor in Public International Law, St Anne's College, Oxford

The panel will examine the recent landmark decision of the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights in Al Dulimi and Montana Management Inc vs. Switzerland and its impact on the rights of individuals and entities to challenge dual sanctions regimes (UN Security Council and national sanctions) before domestic courts. 

Guests are encouraged to stay for a reception after the talk, when there will be an opportunity to meet the speakers and other attendees.
