Commerzbank AG granted permission to appeal judgment on bankers’ bonuses

The Court of Appeal (Davis and Longmore LJJ) today granted Commerzbank AG and Dresdner Kleinwort Ltd permission to appeal against a €50 million judgment in favour of a group of former employees. The judgment was for bonuses allegedly promised to the employees in 2008. The first instance judgment is reported as Attrill & Others, Anar & Others v Dresdner Kleinwort Limited, Commerzbank AG [2012] EWHC 1189 (QB). The appeal will be heard next year.
