Geoff Sharp is one of New Zealand's leading commercial mediators and in 2012 was voted by the legal profession to be the inaugural Mediator of the Year at the annual NZ Law Awards. Geoff is available to mediate internationally, in particular Asia and the Middle East.
He is included in The International Who's Who of Commercial Mediation focused on ‘those who act as mediators in commercial proceedings across a range of different industries and should be considered the leading experts in their jurisdictions'.
With a particular connection to Asia Geoff is on the Advisory Board of Singapore Management University's Centre for Dispute Resolution (School of Law). He is appointed to the Singapore Mediation Centre's International Panel of Mediators and is a member of the National Electricity Market of Singapore Dispute Resolution and Compensation Panel. Geoff is a member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre's panel of accredited mediators.
He mediates across the entire range of commercial conflict including infrastructure, construction, intellectual property, technology/telecom/energy sectors, financial, contractual, shareholder, joint-venture and senior employment.
He is admitted to the Bar in New Zealand and also the Supreme Court of Victoria, the High Court of Australia and the Australian Federal Court.
Geoff has conducted over 1000 mediations in New Zealand and internationally, mediating across the entire range of commercial conflict including infrastructure, construction, intellectual property, technology/telecom/energy sectors, financial, contractual, shareholder, joint-venture and senior employment.
Geoff was voted 2012/2013 Mediator of the Year by the New Zealand legal profession at the annual LexisNexis Law Awards.
Geoff is a regular judge and mediator at the annual ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition held annually in Paris and in 2012 mediated the final between South Texas College of Law and Bar Ilan University - video
