Competition Litigation ABA Brunch

03/04/25

Global antitrust issues before London Courts

Join barristers from Brick Court Chambers at brunch on Wednesday 2nd April 2025 during the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting for a round-table discussion of how London’s courts are addressing global antitrust issues.

London remains a global centre for the resolution of the most complex international antitrust claims. The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority remains active, outward-looking and vigilant on the investigatory side, scrutinising international mergers and exercising its extensive powers under the UK’s Competition Act and the DMCC regime. The Competition Appeal Tribunal is among the most active competition courts in the world.

We will:

  • Discuss the CMA’s first forays into its newly-built DMCC architecture; and how the Tribunal is likely to invigilate its activities there;
  • Recent developments in the UK’s increasingly developing collective action regime;
  • The latest developments and challenges in the stand-alone, cartel damages space; and
  • The UK’s continuing role as a truly global litigation centre
